Government of The Gambia: Youth Traineeship Exchange Program (YTEP)

​ACE planned and implemented a regional programme which provided opportunities for youths in ECOWAS countries of Ghana, Nigeria and The Gambia to undergo exchange training programmes in carpentry, agriculture, and tailoring. YTEP sought to capacitate youths on self-sufficiency for human and socio-economic development to deliver skills training for young people in the rural areas between the ages of 21 and 30.
The Youth Traineeship Exchange Program consisted of a lot of benefits which included;
  • Gaining practical, relevant training and experience;
  • Learning to integrate and work within a diverse workforce and location;
  • Support on training and trade;
  • Empowerment and inspiration;
  • Becoming part of a solution to avert irregular migration and give the youth an opportunity to unleash their potentials.
